Bold Moves

I have another one coming, but this is quicker. I got this from superbeck. Bold what you’ve done.
  1. Started your own blog. (Here)
  2. Slept under the stars. (The first time was in the desert. I've also NOT slept under some shooting stars, while snuggling, and waiting for Search and Rescue to call us back.)
  3. Played in a band. (The only thing musical I can play is chairs.)
  4. Visited Hawaii.
  5. Watched a meteor shower. (Oh, indeed, yes.)
  6. Given more than you can afford to charity.
  7. Been to Disneyland.
  8. Climbed a mountain. (Lassen, Shucksan (base camp), Rainier (base camp), Si)
  9. Held a praying mantis.
  10. Sang a solo. (haha, no)
  11. Bungee jumped.
  12. Visited Paris.
  13. Watched a lightening storm at sea.
  14. Taught yourself an art from scratch. (I don't know if swing dancing counts. I ended up taking lessons in this, too.)
  15. Adopted a child.
  16. Had food poisoning.
  17. Walked to the top of the Statue of Liberty.
  18. Grown your own vegetables. (Hey, I helped!)

  27. Run a Marathon.
  28. Ridden in a gondola in Venice
  29. Seen a total eclipse
  30. Watched a sunrise or sunset (Seriously, who hasn't done this?--oh, wait, some people around here never see the sun.)

  32. Been on a cruise (Long Beach -> Catalina -> Sand Diego -> Ensenada)

  34. Visited the birthplace of your ancestors. (Bridgewater, Nova Scota. Also, Germany & The Netherlands)
  35. Seen an Amish community.
  36. Taught yourself a new language. (Again with the "taught yourself". The only way to truly do this is by immersion, and even then, others are inevitably helping you. I choose to bend the rules. I learned Spanish in high school, and now I'm learning Koine Greek. Also, I "taught" myself English as a child. My family and community had nothing to do with it.)
  37. Had enough money to be truly satisfied. (I'm satisfied with just a cottage below / A little silver, and a little gold.)

  47. Had your portrait painted.

  50. Been to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
  51. Gone scuba diving or snorkeling (Snorkeling in Catalina).
  52. Kissed in the rain. (There's always some sort of rain falling in Seattle, so I'm sure Liz and I have done this.)
  53. Played in the mud. (There's no other way to play Soccer.)
  54. Gone to a drive-in theater.
  55. Been in a movie. (I think this one is for the benefit of those who haven't. My first movie was Snow White. I think I was in middle school.) -- Edit: Un-bolded. Thanks for the comment, Caleb.

  2. That does make more sense. Thanks for pointing that out. I think I was thinking "in" as in "in a screening".

  3. 69: I'm afraid you're a little mixed up. Your favorite childhood toy was Cogo Bird, not Cinnamon!

  4. Tsk, tsk, David. I'm afraid you're mistaken in this regard. I did indeed have a favorite childhood toy: a chicken named Cogo Bird. I also had another favorite childhood toy, a dog named Cinnamon. These toys (both stuffed animals) were both my absolute favorites at different times in my childhood. #69 specifically refers to "saving" "a" favorite childhood toy. As I recall, I kept Cinnamon around well into my teenage years, when I had given away or given up most other stuffed animals. Thus, I "saved a favorite childhood toy." I don't believe Cogo Bird qualifies in the same way.

As punishment for your hubris, I assign you to complete this survey on your own blog.

  5. Did you sing "Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld" by yourself (#41)? If so, then you have done #10 =)
